Developers broke ground on a massive rental residential complex near Tillicum Shopping Centre on Tuesday.
The Odyssey at 3400 Tillicum Rd., at Burnside Road, will contain 242 rental units and more than 14,000 square feet of ground-level commercial space.
The development, expected to be completed in early 2026, is a partnership between Ovis Group, Stratosphere Properties and Ironclad Developments.
The new rental homes will consist of 50 studios, 84 one-bedrooms, 92-two-bedroom/one bedroom plus den units, three and four-bedroom homes and 12 townhomes.
There will also be 12 units that will be designated as affordable units for 10 years, to be rented at 10% below new market rents at the time of occupancy for the building.
Sébastien Leboeuf, CEO of the Ovis Group, said the project will become a significant housing and retail hub in the Tillicum area of Saanich.
He said residents will be close to Hampton Park, retail amenities and transit at the gateway to the Trans-ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ Highway.
