RCMP in Campbell River seized 1.6 kilograms of fentanyl in drug raids last month, including some of the lethal drug that was processed into the shape of Lego bricks and dinosaurs.
The drugs were found after searches of three Campbell River homes on Sept. 25 — two in the 900-block of Island Highway South and another in the 600-block of Nursery Road, police said.
Police found evidence that the fentanyl was being diluted, dyed, flavoured and molded into dinosaurs, Lego bricks and other shapes at one of the locations.
Drugs including 180 grams of cocaine, 290 grams of methamphetamine and a small number of dilaudid pills were also seized, along with cash, a firearm and other drug-manufacturing and trafficking items.
RCMP said Leah Lewis of Campbell River has been charged with drug-trafficking and production offences and is currently in custody.
Five other individuals are still under investigation and may also face drug-trafficking charges, police said.
