West Shore RCMP reminded residents Tuesday that the roads in the region “are not Mario Kart tracks,” a reference to a race video game.
Police responded to reports of a go-kart being driven “aggressively” in heavy traffic on Peatt Road and Hockley Avenue in Langford on Monday.
The adult driver was charged with no vehicle licence and the go-kart was towed.
Under the Motor Vehicle Act, a go-kart is considered a miniature motor vehicle and cannot be used on a highway except on a route that has been designated as a parade route by a local or provincial government authority.
