West Shore RCMP say roads a 'no-Mario' zone after go-kart pulled over

Police responded to reports of a go-kart being driven “aggressively” in heavy traffic on Peatt Road and Hockley Avenue in Langford on Monday.

West Shore RCMP reminded residents Tuesday that the roads in the region “are not Mario Kart tracks,” a reference to a race video game.

Police responded to reports of a go-kart being driven “aggressively” in heavy traffic on Peatt Road and Hockley Avenue in Langford on Monday.

The adult driver was charged with no vehicle licence and the go-kart was towed.

Under the Motor Vehicle Act, a go-kart is considered a miniature motor vehicle and cannot be used on a highway except on a route that has been designated as a parade route by a local or provincial government authority.
