There is an answer to the question: "When is this going to end?"
Let's start with the next provincial or federal election. Let the candidates know we are electing them for one term only.
Any incumbent who has served one or more terms will not receive our votes.
That does away with the possibility of any more votes garnered through dinner meetings and the six-year requirement to qualify for the ride on the gravy train when they retire.
Before anyone sets their hair on fire and begins shouting, "But we'll never get any good people to run for political office under these regulations," keep in mind we've been electing "good" people for hundreds of years and look at the unacceptable situation our province is in now.
