'Devastated and heartbroken': ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ fisherman vanishes after falling into Fraser River

The family is pleading with the public to keep an eye out along the Fraser River for their loved one and his belongings.

The family of a man who fell into the Fraser River and vanished are desperately searching for him.

Randall ‘Alvis’ Ned, 56, was fishing along the river, north of Lillooet, at an area known as Six Mile on Sept. 6 when he fell from the shore.

"His family is completely devastated and heartbroken not knowing where he is,” says family member Naomi Ned.

Ned is from Pavilion, 35 kilometres north of Lillooet, and was fishing with family when he disappeared.

“He has a wife and daughter and all his family and friends who are missing him,” says Naomi.

Since his disappearance, family and friends have been spending their days walking the area where he was last seen and also searching by boat.

Ned was last seen wearing a green camouflage long-sleeve shirt, blue jogging pants and hiking boots.

He was using a 16-foot dip net for fishing that has not been found.

Volunteers are also helping in the search.

The family is asking for people who are going to be along the Fraser River, and downstream through the Lower Mainland, to keep an eye out for him and his belongings.

Anyone who has information about Ned or has seen any of his items is asked to contact Lillooet RCMP at 250-256-4244.
