Take a Crab-tastic guided walk with CRD Parks

Learn about red crabs, green crabs, purple crabs and hermit crabs — living together on one beach — at Crab-tastic!, a CRD Parks all-ages guided walk at Witty’s Lagoon Regional Park in Metchosin on Sunday.

Join a CRD Regional Parks naturalist for some intertidal observation and meet some of the crabs — and their cousins — to find out what makes them special.

Make sure to bring, or come wearing sandals or beach shoes, as your feet will get wet.

The program is free and suitable for all age groups. It runs 10 to 11:30 a.m. June 9 at Witty’s Lagoon, off Metchosin Road. Meet at the Witty’s beach kiosk at the end of the Beach Trail (about a 20-minute walk from the parking lot). The trail down to the beach is 1.2-kilometres long, with a steep incline.

The guided walk is 500 metres on a sandy beach, with no incline. The park is serviced by ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ Transit routes 54 or 55.
