Rapper and actor Ice Cube will perform at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre on April 23, his first show in the market in over a decade.
The former N.W.A. member and star of the Friday film franchise will be joined by guests Merkules and Peter Jackson for the concert, which is part of the 10-date Straight Into ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ Tour. Cube — who is in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame — has not performed in Victoria since his 2012 appearance at Distrikt nightclub, now Wicket Hall.
He remains an icon of the hip-hop genre, however. He was introduced to a new generation of fans through 2015’s Straight Outta Compton, the Academy Award-nominated biopic about the rise and fall of N.W.A., and is a founding member of Mt. Westmore, a new California supergroup which also features Snoop Dogg, E-40, and Too Short.
Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre box office (250-220-7777) or .
