I like the math, five tacos for $5 (Tax really makes it $5.25). They’re small but look impressiive lined up in a neat row, complete with one-squirt, mini wedges of lime. My colleague Sarah told me that she always makes Hernande’z a regular stop for a quck Mexican food fix and I can see why. The five-for-five deal is available as black beans, chicken or pork and come with a dollop of salsa.

In the bonus department, I picked up a money-saving tip. My chicken tacos were served on coloured waxed paper, and that has to be cheaper than paper plates. Why didn’t I think of that?
