A mechanical issue that led to cancellation of two morning sailings on the Queen of Oak Bay between Nanaimo and Horseshoe Bay on Friday has been resolved, and sailings have resumed as scheduled, ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ Ferries says.

The 6:30 a.m. sailing from Horseshoe Bay and the 9:05 a.m. from Departure Bay in Nanaimo were cancelled, but the 11:25 a.m. from Horseshoe Bay and 1:40 p.m. from Departure Bay are now expected to go ahead.

On Thursday night, crews discovered a problem with the vessel’s power-supply system, and announced the cancellation of the first four sailings to allow time to resolve the issue, ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ Ferries said.

“Thanks to the hard work of our engineering team, we made significant progress with the repairs and will be able to reinstate the 11:25 a.m. sailing,” the company said in an email Friday.

“We appreciate the patience and understanding of our passengers as we worked through this issue.”

ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ Ferries said its representatives are reaching out to anyone with a booking on the cancelled sailings.
