Comox Valley RCMP are investigating a Thursday afternoon report of a weapon that led to a precautionary lockdown at Courtenay’s Mark R. Isfeld Secondary School and a youth being taken into custody.
Police received a report just after 1 p.m. that someone was headed to the school with a weapon, and decided there should be a lockdown.
The youth was apprehended without incident and there is no ongoing threat to students, school staff or the public, police said.
The lockdown was lifted by 1:20 p.m.
