Victoria is becoming more and more definitely recognized throughout ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½, as well as in the United States, as an ideal Winter resort, a fact which is partly attributable to the publicity campaign which has been consistently carried on, especially in the past year.
The Victoria and Island Publicity Bureau has recently received a letter from Mr. L.T. Kellie, the Chicago representative for the Canadian Pacific Railway, stating that he has made good use of all the publicity matter in the shape of circulars, photographs and special articles supplied by the bureau, and that he is anxious for a fresh supply.
The letter also contains the news that an article on fishing on Vancouver Island is appearing in the November issue of Outdoor Recreations, a magazine with a circulation of 70,000.
The current issue of Hotel and Café News, a paper circulating in Western ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ as far east as Winnipeg, has devoted a great deal of space to illustrated publicity articles on Victoria.
One of these concerns speaks of Victoria as ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½'s Winter resort, and the other, which features the Crystal Garden, is under the caption of "A Bit of Florida Under Glass."
Many inquiries are received from people in Eastern ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½, Great Britain, the Orient, and a great number from California, many of them stating that the writers have seen Victoria in the capacity of tourists and are so impressed by the place that they intend making their homes here, while others are lured by attractive reports.
