Tell me it ain't so!
Former cabinet minister Bev Oda, after eight years service, is now eligible for a parliamentary pension of $52,183 a year. According to the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, the 67-year-old Oda stands to collect nearly $700,000 in benefits by age 80, despite contributing only about $130,000 to her pension.
When is this absurd, disgusting practice of politicians at the trough going to end? Canadians citizens deserve better.
