Smart meters a waste of people's money

A ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ Hydro official says installation supervisors are certified electricians and are always on standby to undertake any plate repairs noted by the installers during the installation of smart meters.

How can the certified electrician supervisor undertake the plate repairs, if the installer is too incompetent to note that it requires repairs? Installers are not licensed electricians and have no business installing high-voltage, high-current devices that meter a house's power without the proper training.

Two weeks' training is not proper training for this obviously risky installation performed while a load of unknown magnitude, up to the full 100-amp service, is connected to the meter.

Corix employees are paid by the number of meters they install. What incentive is there for the installer to slow the process down and do it properly and carefully? The answer is none, and the public's safety is compromised as a result.

It's time the citizens of ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ shut down this idiotic, billion-dollar waste of money.
