If exploring new restaurants and embarking on foodie adventures sounds like the perfect way to kick off the new year, this food and drink festival is made for you.
The 2024 edition of runs from Jan. 17 to Feb. 4 for 19 days of unique dining and culinary experiences celebrating Metro Vancouver’s world-renowned food and drink scene. With events hosted across Metro Vancouver, the annual festival allows attendees to embrace the rich tapestry of food cultures, indulge in delicious flavours and textures, and appreciate local culinary creativity.
This year’s will feature over 380 participating restaurants in and around Vancouver, ensuring that Dine Out continues to be the largest annual dining festival of its kind across ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½. Inclusive of all types of diners, each dining spot will offer multi-course dinners with fixed price menus ranging from $20 to $65.
For those visiting from Victoria and from across Vancouver Island, Dine Out is a can’t-be-missed foodie getaway in the Lower Mainland.
“Vancouver offers a wider variety of restaurants and a cosmopolitan city feel for a quick and easy escape from island life,” says Lucas Pavan, Dine Out Vancouver Festival project manager at Destination Vancouver.
The city’s multicultural influences, along with immediate access to fresh ingredients from the nearby oceans, rivers, valleys, and fields, lend to Vancouver’s reputation as one of the world’s greatest food hubs.
“All of the festival events are unique to Vancouver and can’t be done anywhere else. For one, Vancouver is the only place in Western ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ with MICHELIN Guide-rated restaurants, and Dine Out has several of them participating,” says Pavan.
A returning Dine Out favourite for 2024 is the , which will bring award-winning chefs from global culinary hubs to MICHELIN recognized restaurants in Vancouver for a series of collaborative dinners. This year’s dinner series will feature flavours from London, Ho Chi Minh City, and Oakland.
Also back this season is , a celebration of local food trucks from Vancouver’s thriving street food scene, taking place from Jan. 20 to 28 at the Vancouver Art Gallery.
Various food crawls will give festival attendees a chance to explore different food neighbourhoods in Vancouver – from East Van to Mount Pleasant – at their own pace. On Jan 17., the will highlight dumplings from different cultures, which may include Chinese dumplings, Northern Vietnamese dumplings, Nepalese momos, Mexican tamales, Japanese gyoza, and more. on Jan. 25 will offer dishes, bites, and sips as well as have a chance to meet the neighbourhood's resident artists and chefs.
Other taking place across the city during the nearly three weeks of the 2024 include the , , a pop-up dinner at the , a restaurant collaboration dinner with , and more.
As a special offer for festival-goers visiting from Vancouver Island, reservations made at hotels in downtown Vancouver during the duration of the Dine Out Vancouver Festival will be eligible to receive one for each night they book (for a maximum of three nights).*
