Upon entering Tapestry at Victoria Harbour, residents and visitors alike experience a warm and comfortable ambience amplified by a beautiful design with open and inviting spaces.The community’s comfortable suites are beautifully designed and thoughtfully appointed, and uniquely feature full kitchens.

Residents of Tapestry have access to an expansive selection of amenity spaces, including a rooftop deck offering panoramic views of the city and waterfront, and an elegant lobby for gathering with others by the fireplace. They can also gather, connect, and play whether that be pickleball in the games room, movie nights in the media room, cocktails in the fully-stocked pub, yoga on the rooftop patio, and workout classes in the fitness studio. 

Health and wellness-inspired programming

Wellness is the key to living your best life, and Tapestry believes it is possible to be healthier as you age. As a testament to their commitment to holistic wellness, Tapestry at Victoria Harbour has been a multi-year recipient of the International Council on Active Aging’s NuStep Beacon “Best in Wellness” Award, which recognizes the Top 25 senior living communities in North America. In 2021, the community earned the Pinnacle Award as “Best in Wellness” in North America. 

Several residents have significantly improved their health and wellbeing after taking advantage of Tapestry’s various health and wellness programs, from group workout classes to personal fitness sessions led by the community’s kinesiologist.

After working one-on-one with in-house kinesiologist Fatima, was able to stop using walking aids. “Fatima started working with me on my strength and balance, and within four months I was walking on my own with no walker and no cane.”

A solid sense of community

Residents can also choose how involved they are in the social activities offered at Tapestry at Victoria Harbour; they have the option to actively pursue their range of hobbies and engage in new passions alongside fellow residents.

“We firmly resist ageistic notions of what is possible as you age and we don’t try to limit opportunities or experiences by how many birthdays one has celebrated,” says Amber Reis, general manager at Tapestry at Victoria Harbour. “Our residents have the opportunity to participate in options that appeal to them; from hybrid belly-dancing classes, kayaking and hiking, to participating in writing and book clubs, as well as a singing group.”

In addition to organizing a cruise to Alaska later this year, residents are actively involved in planning and participating in group ventures that benefit the greater community. 

“Residents are exceptionally community-minded, flexing their wellness muscle by giving to others to enrich broader society,” shares Reis. “They’ve raised more than $20,000 in donations for the Inter-Cultural Association of Greater Victoria to . Currently, they’re leading a major to support a new BC Cancer – Victoria Integrated Care and Research Pavilion.”

“Our chefs both cook and serve guests, just like in fine restaurants,” says Reis. “This allows them to engage with residents on their preferences, share their knowledge and continue to evolve offerings based on evolving tastes.”
