The Victoria Shamrocks’ high-powered offence continues to fire on all cylinders and now the green and white are on the verge of their first trip to the Mann Cup national championship since 2019.
Paced by Casey Wilson’s three goals and four assists, the Shamrocks knocked off the Langley Thunder 14-9 on Wednesday night at the Langley Events Centre to take a commanding 3-0 series lead in the best-of-seven Western Lacrosse Association final. Game 4 goes Friday night at The Q Centre.
Wilson was the game’s first star, while Marshall King finished with two goals and three assists to earn third-star honours for the Shamrocks.
Victoria blew open a close game with a nine-goal second period. Clarke Petterson also had a two-goal night for the Shamrocks.
The WLA champion will take on the winner of the Major Series Lacrosse league in the best-of-seven Mann Cup final, with the MSL champion hosting all seven games. The Peterborough Lakers currently lead the MSL final 2-1 over the Six Nations Chiefs.
