Re: "It's tough to live on disability pension," Aug. 3. A disabled person spends 83 per cent of their pension on housing - try to find a one-bedroom apartment in Victoria for less than $750 a month.

Re: "Police chief backs licence tracking," Aug. 2. So Victoria police Chief Jamie Graham sees nothing wrong with the RCMP plan to collect and keep licence-plate data on people who have committed no crime.

It seems to me that something as vital to the well-being of our province as the bitumen pipeline and shipping port that Alberta, the federal government and Enbridge are proposing for 乌鸦传媒

It is high time for 乌鸦传媒 to grow up and stop being a raw-materials supplier to the world. Build a refinery to process the crude oil and pump the refined product; these products are non-corrosive compared to crude oil, pipelines much more durable.

Re: "Operating-room closures a cost-saving measure," July 31. Here's to Dr. Tim Relf for expressing my thoughts exactly. VIHA spokeswoman Shannon Marshall states: "Surgical waits have nothing to do with summertime surgical slowdowns.

I must express my great disappointment at the recent decision of the mayor and council of Oak Bay to turn down the Oak Bay Lodge proposal. As a result we will lose a much-needed facility in our municipality.

With our 乌鸦传媒 holiday long weekend here, we will be seeing more of our provincial flag. It is an attractive flag with great meaning. The setting sun over the Pacific Ocean displays us as 乌鸦传媒's westernmost province.

Re: "Police chief backs licence tracking," Aug. 2 Jamie Graham, Victoria's police chief, would have us believe that we live in a world where we can trust the police to always do what is right.

For the first time, the provincial government has imposed reservation fees to campgrounds in the semi-remote Strathcona Park area (namely Suttle Lake and Ralph River campsites).
